Dear readers,
In many traditional industries, work is still conducted through documents, waiting times and intermediaries. The value is there, but it remains locked in archives that no one is able to read in full.
iWhy we exist
Morvik Group builds and runs companies that apply artificial intelligence to these industries. They are the sectors on which the economy rests, and at the same time those in which the adoption of artificial intelligence is still most limited: in construction, transport and hospitality, about one company in ten uses it.1 Each of them holds a body of documents that has never been examined systematically. We develop the systems capable of reading it and establish the companies that realise its value.
Technology is not an end in itself for us. Our aim is to enable people and businesses to access information that was previously beyond their reach, and to take better-informed decisions. That is why we do not sell software: we found companies that operate within a sector and are accountable to their customers for the results they achieve.
iiWhy justice first
We began with civil justice because in this sector the gap is documented by official statistics. In Italy the average duration of a civil case, across the three instances, is 1,789 days.2 According to ISTAT’s survey for 2023, more than 900,000 people had given up enforcing a right in the preceding three years; for one in five, the expected costs outweighed the expected benefits.3
The information required, however, already exists: millions of judgments record how disputes are resolved. Examining them in full, case by case, was not possible with traditional methods; today it is, provided that artificial intelligence confines itself to analysis and the decision remains with people. This is also what the law requires: since 2025, in the Italian intellectual professions, artificial intelligence may perform only supporting activities, while the decision rests with the professional.4
The group’s first company is ComproCausa, on the market since 25 September 2026. ComproCausa offers individuals and SMEs a free pre-evaluation of their claim: artificial intelligence compares it with millions of Italian rulings, ComproCausa’s team checks it and an appointed lawyer validates its merits. ComproCausa is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice and does not buy or fund the claim: it pre-evaluates the case and, if it is eligible, refers it to third-party litigation funds.
iiiHow we build our companies
Our method is simple to state and takes time to carry out. We select sectors in which the gap is measurable and whose processes rest on volumes of documents that cannot be examined in full. Before the product, we build the database, which we keep continuously up to date: it is the least visible work, but also the most enduring, since a model can be replaced, whereas a rigorously analysed archive retains its value. We then entrust this archive to an artificial intelligence system that reads and compares, and to professionals of the sector who verify the results and sign them off.
Each company in the group is an independent business, accountable for its own accounts and its own data. All of them, however, operate on a shared platform hosted in the European Union, and each makes what it has developed available to the next: the data, when the sectors are related; the method, the infrastructure, the standards and the expertise, in every case. This is the advantage of a group: no company starts from scratch, and none gives up its independence.
The second company is Kesita, currently in its pre-launch phase: a legal intelligence platform for Italian law, designed for lawyers, law firms and in-house legal departments. It belongs to the same sector as ComproCausa and also inherits its data. The third may operate in an entirely different sector.
ivOur commitments
We make few commitments, and we set them out in a form that can be verified. Artificial intelligence reads; decisions rest with people. Every statistic we publish is accompanied by its source, and every source is listed; the data remains in the European Union, and each company is accountable for its own accounts.
We state with equal clarity what we do not promise. We do not promise outcomes: the timeframes we give are indicative, and no result is guaranteed. We do not claim certifications we do not hold, nor do we use AI-generated people to portray real events.
There is much talk of revolutionising traditional industries. We prefer a more sober verb: to read. An industry is transformed when the information it holds becomes accessible to those who need it, and when someone takes responsibility for what is drawn from it.
vThe outlook
The method is not tied to justice. Every sector whose processes rest on documents has an archive to be read and decisions that belong to people. We are working towards an economy in which no value remains confined to a case file. We are already examining the next sector, which we will present when we have concrete results to show. In the meantime, we will continue to build patiently and to publish only what we are able to document, beginning with this letter.
Those who know a traditional industry from the inside, or who wish to contribute to building the group, are invited to write to us. Every message will be read with care.
