Browser storage

Two technical items, kept only for the duration of the visit: any “Pause animation” choice and the reading position on each page. No personal data are processed. Details.

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in the user’s browser. Some are necessary for the site to function (technical cookies); others make it possible to recognise the user and to track their browsing, including on other sites (profiling and third-party cookies). The latter require the user’s prior consent.

The site uses the browser’s session storage (sessionStorage), a tool similar to cookies, solely for two technical items. These remain in the user’s browser, are not sent to our servers and are erased when the tab is closed.

Animation pause

Key “morvik:motion-paused”. Stored only if the user activates the “Pause animation” control, located in the colophon at the foot of every page and on the opening screen of the home page; it retains that choice during browsing. The “Resume animation” control erases it.

Reading position

Key “morvik:scroll”. For each page visited, it records the address and the reading position reached (the distance from the top of the page, in pixels), so that it can be restored when the browser’s Back and Forward buttons are used.

The site stores nothing in the browser’s permanent storage (localStorage). No tracking pixels, device fingerprinting or other monitoring techniques are used. Typefaces and images are served directly by this site: while it is being browsed, the browser does not contact any third-party service.

When a link to another site is followed, for example to comprocausa.com (opens in a new tab) or to the documents cited as sources, the rules of that site apply, and it may use cookies of its own.

Cookies can be viewed, deleted and blocked through the browser settings. These settings do not affect the operation of this site.
